Why Bother Being “Healthy”?

Living with purpose, having a reason to get up in the morning is a big part of having a happy, healthy life. But it’s really hard to help others when you’re in pain or feeling depressed. The whole purpose of “The Art of Living Longer-The User Manual for Human Beings” is for you to have access to good science balanced by common sense and an understanding of what human beings – homo-sapiens – require to get the best performance out of the machine that is our body.

Your body is a machine. In fact, it’s a bio-chemical feedback system housed in an electro-magnetic field and your health is dependent upon the balance and harmony that exists within this system. The problem is that we don’t get a User Manual. If you buy a toaster or vacuum cleaner or a computer you get a manual that tells you the exact maintenance and upkeep it must get in order for it to perform well for a long time. But when we have a baby, they just hand it to you! Whaaaaat??? Over the millennia, as humans evolved there was always an elder around to help guide new mothers. But in our nuclear family society, we have lost those connections. We have lost connection to our origins and to what the human body – what homo-sapiens – actually require for optimum health and well-being.

The Savvy Senior Club (on meetup.com), my Facebook Live show, “Wisdom of the Age” (every Wed at noon), and all of my presentations focus on one or more aspects of “The Art of Living Longer – A User Manual for the Human Being”, my original, science-based curriculum on how to achieve peak physical and cognitive performance from our bodies by understanding the upkeep and maintenance required by our species. I encourage you to come to one or all and immerse yourself in a community in which we strive to achieve peak performance from our bodies and minds for as long as humanly possible.
